Default I could go for some global warming

Anybody else tired of this cold weather?? It is about 10 degrees below normal today and 20 degrees below normal yesterday.

Hopefully it gets warm soon. Last year at this time they said it was in the 80s and even low 90s

This was actually one of the few winters in many years that had below average temperatures. The farmers are very happy here in E Kansas because the freeze/frost cycle ended exactly on schedule, and we have had cool enough temperatures to help out soil moisture values. When you live south of 40N latitude you take all of the rain and cool temperatures you can get this time of year because it tempers the summer heat a little down the road.

I want the snow. Summer heat makes me cranky and irritable. Winter makes me giddy and hyper.

Eh, it will definitely start heating up soon according to the models. Iowa will be cool this weekend, though.

The La Nina weather pattern is responsible for the out of season temps.

Does that mean this summer will be relatively cool? That would be nice.

I believe I heard it is going to be a mild summer - could be wrong.

La Nina summers tend to be drier than average. However, this current La Nina is weakening so I don't think it will have much influence on the summer weather patterns in the US.
