There is A amusement park in Iowa. Adventureland in Altoona.

There is one more -- Arnolds Park at Okoboji. Arnolds Park Rides Very old-fashioned, not trying to compete with the modern parks.

If you're catholic, check out the basilica in Dyersville. I grew up there (field of dreams is rather boring but if you're there, why not). The basillica is rather extravogent.

I don't know if you are interested in history at all, but two weekends ago my husband and I went to living history farms and loved it. It was really interesting.
Also Ledges state park is beautiful!
