Smithland and Hornick, Iowa
I'm sorry I don't have family info for you, but I grew up on a farm between the two towns you mentioned. Smithland is on the eastern edge of the Loess hills, a very picturesque little town. 231 is the population now. Hornick is 10 or 12 miles west of Smithland, on the flat land, and used to have a railroad connection. Also very small. I think that the movie "Children of the Corn" used a house from Hornick in their first movie. Both are farming communities. I now live in Wyoming, but you can't take Iowa out of the girl. -katalex23
