Tornado hit Boy Scout Ranch - Fatalities and Injuries
Does anyone have any details? CNN TV is reporting that a tornado just hit a Boy Scout Ranch in Harrison County and their are 20 to 30 injuries and about 4 dead.
Can anyone give the exact location?

We are constantly hearing about it on one of our news stations, KETV Omaha, they say that they had to use 3 helicopters so far to get 8 critically injured kids out, my prayers go out to all of the kids and families affected by this storm
You should make an Iowa Weather thread like we did in the Nebraska forum

Heard this on the news a little while ago. My deepest sympathies to the families of the dead, and prayers being sent out to the injured.

The latest news confernce reported that roughly half of the 93 young men were injured, including some counselors. Stories are starting to surface of acts of heroism; of scouts as young as 12 and 13 rescuing each other and their counselors, of them setting up triage and administering first aid. When I hear stories like that, I have every confidence that the future is in capable hands. Iowa, Nebraska- you must be bursting with pride in the way these young men stepped up to the plate in the face of tragedy and disaster.

My cousin was there, he is 16 and just had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor in January. I just spoke to my Aunt (his mother). They just got back from Little Sioux and are visiting a few of his friends in the surrounding hospitals. My cousin was in the North Shelter (the one that got hit by the tornado) and witnessed the entire thing. Needless to say he is very shaken up. He has a broken arm I believe, but is healthy otherwise.
It is very sad, but lucky that they were boyscouts, they were better prepared to take care of each other than other groups of people would have been.
