Smile Moving after graduation. Ft. Dodge for me?

So in a few years, I'm going to leave Maine in search of something better. I live in a seriously tiny town in the Downeast area, where my school only has about 350 kids, and only about 5 percent of them leave town. I decided that 3 days or so after graduation, I'm going to pack a bag and a box and kick gravel out west, where I've always wanted to live. I have family about 50 miles from Ft. Dodge, and the population seems great. It seems like a hoppin' little place, and I was just curious if anyone had a suggestion or two about western places for a girl like me (and possibley a certain someone, if we're still together, which it looks like we will) to live. I've never been there, so I plan on traveling around first. Thanks so much!
