Iowa City area runners (Cedar Rapids, Coralville: work, hospital, university)

New to area and wondering if there are any running clubs/groups around here.

I am due to start training for the Goofy Challenge @ Disney and wondered if anyone else was registered for Disney. I am NOT a competitive runner at all. I average 8:40-9:40 depending on if I'm in the mood that day.

Would like to find some running partners, but everything is schedule-dependent with me.

If anyone has any info on running groups or training runs happening, I would be happy to hear about them.

Hi there, I dont know how much help this may be but when I use to work at the University Hospital I would see information flyers about activaty groups/clubs for running and other sorts posted about. I even seen some of them doing there thing everyonce in awhile. Also these were for anyone interested and not just students or staff. That was two years ago, so im sure if you look and ask around someone can steer you in the right direction.

The local running store is Running Wild. They have a training group that runs every weekend, Saturdays in Cedar Rapids and Sundays in Coralville. They could also be a good resource to learn about local runs, other training groups, etc. and would likely know if anyone else around here is going to Disney.

Cedar Rapids has a club called the Cedar Valley Running Association that puts on the majority of the events in our area. They have group runs on T, TH, Sat and Sundays.

I'm sure it's not quite what you're looking for but there is also a North Liberty group that holds runs, swims, biking, etc. regularly, the North Liberty Run, Bike, Hike Meetup , and the University has a triathalon club, the Trihawks.
