What sort of attendance do you really expect for the Flaming Lips?

A festival like 80/35 would probably sell out in the smaller sized Quad Cities, which was my point.

Our lame lil no name reggae "Ya maka my weekend" fest in the District of Rock Island is twice as big.

I don't know, maybe. I don't really know too much about the QC music scene except a little bit about the hardcore scene. I was going to go out there for King of Clubz last show recently but didn't. I know that Moline used to/still does get more big name acts than Des Moines and that's it.

I think 80/35 is pretty lame, nothing on the bill has ever really interested me. Public Enemy headlined this year but I guess it was pretty much just Chuck D and a scab band.

That's because it would be called the 74/80/88 festival. Having that extra interstate highway in the event name would boost turnout.

You can't count that though, or otherwise 80/35 would be 80/35/235...

Anyway... I'm not so sure that 80/35 would be any more successful here. It just depends on the weekend, the weather, and the lineup. Back when River Roots Live was an actual weekend music festival it didn't do so hot, so its not like there's a lot of evidence that we could support it better. That said, we do have millions more people within easy driving distance than Des Moines does. I suspect that's how we get some of our big concerts.
