Okoboji Grill?
Anyone in the Des Moines area been to any of the local Okoboji Grill restaurants? Noticed this place while driving down a road today and considered taking a friend.
Just wondered if the food is good. Thanks all.

Its ok. Nothing special. If you were looking for something real good I would recommend San and Gabes. It's an Italian place in Urbandale that is awesome.

Okoboji has a pretty big menu with everything from Mexican to Greek to the normal chain restaurant stuff like wraps and sandwiches. I second the 'it's OK, it's nothing special" opinion though. It's a cozy place though.

I'll third the "it's OK" sentiments. It's something like an Applebee's in menu selection and quality.

Yeah, I'll uh, fourth this. I like it. It's ok. Nothing Earth-shattering, but a decent place to go if you're in the mood for some sort of a sandwich/salad/short order food. The "boji fries", seasoned french fries with ranch dressing, are good. I guess they also have a good karaoke night if you're into that sort of thing. I once went there with a friend of mine and signed him up for "It's Raining Men" on karaoke. He didn't do it.

Is that a fair comparison? (i.e...price, types of food offered, etc.)

No, it's not a fair comparison, but nobody asked for one. I was just giving my opinion. If I were taking a friend somewhere, I would rather take them somewhere else.

Well, if we're going to go there and you want Italian in Des Moines, do not go to the suburbs, head South. Baratta's, Tumea's, Noodle's, Scornovacco's, Bordenero's, etc.... and of course, Gino's on the Norht Side.
