Laws on Chickens in Des Moines? (home, farm , street)

I am trying to find out what the laws are on having a few bantam chickens inside of Des Moines city limits. Any ideas?

I used to live by a bunch of Mexicans that kept roosters and every morning their ****-a-doodle-doo'ing would wake me up. I believe I posted about them before and how I wanted to make pollo loco out of that damn bird.

This kind of crap is rampant in places like LA. The city looks more like a barnyard. I would hope Des Moines has a law against this.

Just after this post was made, I've been hearing roosters across the street and down the block. They better be out of here by dinner time tomorrow night.

Update: Haven't heard the chickens in a couple of days, I think they've been eaten.


I also have neighbors who started a Dutch rabbit infestation on our block. Every time you would go outside there would be a handful of them hopping around. I'm shocked I didn't see any ran over or eaten by dogs. I don't see them anymore though.
