Default Is there any "tech" companies in Dubuque?

There is a lot of manufcaturing companies in Dubuque, but there doesn't seem to be any high tech industries. Is there a job market for high tech professionals? Such as computer programmers, electrical engineers, software engineers, etc?

Any startup or small companies there that just aren't on the radar yet? There seems to be a lot of industry there, especially for the size of town Dubuque is.

The high-tech community in Dubuque does largely operate below the radar screen.... they don't get as many of the headlines as the manufacturing, tourism, or other big industries... but they are in the city nonetheless.

I recall a few years ago (2003?) that the Milken Institute ranked Dubuque as having the highest high tech GDP growth rate among nearly 100 smaller metro areas: http://www.greaterdubuque.org/downlo...e_number_1.pdf

Here's a few of the high tech companies that I know of in Dubuque. Most employ software or electrical engineers in at one capacity or another.

NetSmart Inc.

ENTEGEE

CarteGraph Systems, Inc.

McKesson Corp.

Quebecor World Inc.

Genuine Genius Solutions, LLC

The Durrant Group Inc.

Dubuque Data Services

Eagle Pointe Software Corp.

McCullough Creative Group, Inc

Miller Electric Supply Inc.

Crescent Electric Supply Company
