Default Best Restaurants in Cedar Falls & Waterloo?

Hi there,

My boyfriend is relocating to the Cedar Valley. We're making our first trip out there soon and would like to check out the best restaurants the area has to offer....especially non-chain restaurants that are unique to the area. Ideally the restuarants would be affordable but high quality. Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Beck's on University, or Beck's on the Hill.

Pepper's in Cedar Falls.

Brown Bottle.

Bourbon Street.

Mulligan's.

-These are all local and really good.

The best place in Waterloo is Tokyo Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar by far. In Cedar Falls, check out Thai Blessings To Go. Yes, you can dine-in there. Personally, I think Pepper's is awful.

I second the Brown Bottle recommendation. I prefer the Waterloo location over the Cedar Falls one, maybe because I've only been to that one twice.

Some great Cedar Falls restaurants, Montage or Brown Bottle -Cedar Falls location, these are the most customer friendly restaurants I've seen and both have the same very attentive owner. Bourbon Street is great and the Road House [in BlackHawk village mall, can't beat their prices] . Also a new one, myVerona [fancy Italian]... haven't tried it yet. There are many more but these stand out!

Cedar Falls- Soho Sushi Bar & Restaurant, Montage, Bourbon Street-all on Main Street (I would skip MyVerona-had a bad experience there and it was overpriced for the city) Waterloo- Tokyo is Hibachi and Sushi which is great, CU in downtown Waterloo, and Paco's in Downtown Waterloo. Brown Bottle is okay, but the decor is out of date, food is down home, but good. I would really stick to Cedar Falls Main Street...it's the cutest area in the two cities.
