These are a lot of really great pictures of downtown. A lot of places I've yet to see but would like to.

Great photos, Ryan. I'm surprised he didn't take any shots of the Iowa Events Center.

Does anyone know the sculptor who made that white statue in the first picture? They have very similar ones in Council Bluffs and I think they call it "particle man"? Just curious, I find them pretty neat. Great pics btw, downtown DSM never disappoints.

I know alot of the pictures are self explanatory, but can some of them be identified? Buildings, events, etc....? One looks like a farmers market? Some others a outdoor concert maybe?

The aerials of crowds near or in the Court Avenue District are from the Farmer's Market. The large crowd photos from the ground towards the end of the photo spread are of Obama's last Iowa rally prior to Election Day.

Those pictures prove to me that my perception of Des Moines is false...It looks like a neat little city full of life and sculptures!! I stand corrected, and teaches me not to assume things without knowledge.
I have no idea how it would be to live there, but the pictures are very nice....
