One of the Des Moines suburbs, probably. Some of them have practically doubled in size since 2000.

Fastest growing population in what category? From 2006-2007 (the only date available right now)? From 2000-2007?

You can look at percentage data and find newly incorporated places in Iowa that have the highest growth rate, which is deceiving. Same thing goes for very small towns that jump in population causing a rapid percentage increase.

Percentage wise, Asbury, Waukee, North Liberty, Granger, Vedic City and Iowa's newest town, Panoramic Park are the growth leaders. Numbers wise, there's no where in Iowa that can touch what the Des Moines suburbs and North Liberty are putting together---not by a long shot.

The Des Moines metro is estimated to have added 65,000+ people since 2000, which is more people than even the larger Omaha metro area based on the Census numbers.

Aw, you mean you don't like the crime, or waiting in line at the hospital, or getting hit in a traffic accident from an uninsured and unlicensed driver? Whats wrong with you, don't you like it when they threaten or shoot at the cops, or perhaps you personally? You should enjoy paying for the extra welfare and prison expenses that come out of your taxes.

Not so sure that it will be any better in Missouri, stick around, move to Glenwood and vote King for governor in 2010.

What are you kooky guys that are afraid of everyone that isn't white and live life fear-mongering about Mexicans taking your jobs and muslims killing your family going to do someday when non-whites keep becoming more and more prevalent in this country? What if you simply cannot just move away from the problem anymore?

Mississippi would love to have you guys!

I don't feel kooky for not liking illegal immigration and what it does to our country. Read what JustMy.o2 had to say in the SC post and tell me that's what you want for your future. It's "kooks" that won't stand up for border security and deportations that will ruin this country.

I suppose the two and a half centuries of immigration in this country (both legal and illegal) have ruined everything this country stands for right? This immigration argument isn't new. I bet the the natives were saying the same thing about all those damn Italians flocking to the US in the late 1800's, or maybe discriminating against the Chinese immigration of the west coast several decades earlier.

That's not saying that I support illegal immigration but your reactionary fringe beliefs do more to continue to ostracize and divide this country than solve a legit national problem. The US will always be a melting pot culture, and people are just going to have to accept that on increasing levels in the future. Blending this many cultures together doesn't always happen easily and without problems, but that again is nothing new for America.

You can keep living your life in fear of everything that isn't the status quo, but know that as long as people can make a living through the American Dream, you won't stop people from getting here--even after you build all the tall fences you want and have all the angry, biggoted rhetoric spewed by hypocritical politicians.
