Most of Vision Iowa was funded by casino dollars. It was one of 3 or 4 arena/events centers funded by the program.
There was likely some level of local match needed to get the project built.

Good to see Sioux City getting a nice facility like this, I would guess Tyson contributed a healty share for this arena. Noticed most the web pages refer to it as "Tyson Event Center/Tyson Center", with Gateway Arena being within the Tyson Event Center. Depending on the event, holds up to 10,000 capacity.... WTG Sioux City !!!

Actually I remember Tyson paying something like $40,000 for the arena name for 10 years. Not sure on the actual numbers but it was not a large sum.

Wow, a whole 40K ? I think Principal paid 2.5 million to rename Sec Taylor Field to Principal Park in DSM for the Iowa Cubs. For 40 grand they ought to pass out some free chicken or something.
