80/35 Fest...Western Gateway Park in Des Moines (Ryan: hotel, budget)

80/35 Music Festival

I'm looking for a hotel close to Western Gateway Park in Des Moines..Any ideas? Last year we stayed on the other side of town it seemed.

I would recommend staying at the downtown Marriott. It's the 2nd closest hotel to the park, but is nicer than the Hotel Fort Des Moines since it's been newly renovated. It'll be over $100 by the time you add in parking, but it's not the most expensive hotel in downtown.

If you're a little more budget conscience, you may have to find a hotel outside of downtown. There's a Holiday Inn and a Quality Inn by the Iowa Events Center, but it's not within walking distance of the park this festival is in.

Come on now Ryan, get out of the Iowa mindset. A 20 minute walk isn't outside everyone's "walking distance." It'd be a good way to see more of downtown Des Moines.

And they'd even walk right in front of the magnificent Wells Fargo Arena! And even get to see Vets Auditorium!
