Default community gardens in Cedar Rapids

Does anyone know if there's a community garden in CR? I would love to have a garden this year, but our yard is almost entirely shade so having on at home isn't an option.

I've never been there, but I found that there is one in Manhattan Robbins Park on Ellis Rd NW. (City Garden - Cedar Rapids, IA - Community Gardens on Waymarking.com) It appears to be near the intersection of Edgewood and Ellis, I see something on Google Maps satellite that looks like a city garden.

It is pretty close to the river so it could have flooded last year, but I'd guess it would have re-opened since then considering it is just a garden and not a building...

From the Cedar Rapids city website:

"Garden plots are available for public rental at Ellis Park, Tuma Park, and Squaw Creek Park.

New gardeners can rent plots beginning at 8:00 a.m. on March 9, 2009, at Ambroz Recreation Center. For more information call the Ambroz Recreation Center at (319) 286-5731."

(City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa - Department of Recreation)

So it appears there are other public gardens as well?

That community garden along Ellis Drive got flooded pretty badly last summer, but the dirt has recently been plowed and it looks ready for another season this year.
