I haven't found the article the OP referenced, but I'd bet that "Iowa Promoting Itself to Minorities" doesn't mean a huge exit sign at each border saying "short lines at the welfare office!" - there has to be more to it than that.

Another thing about those stats, notice the Polk County Jail page lists people who are Hispanic and obviously not white as "white" and the FBI crime stats usually lump Hispanics into the white category. I wonder if that's true for these stats?

I guess it's technically true that Hispanics aren't a race, rather a mixture of Mongoloid natives and Caucasian Spainiards (and others).

Anyways, like I've said before I'm usually polite and respectful to those who I feel deserve it, regardless of color.

Crap does come in all colors. Sadly, the ones who stand out get the most attention. This is just a sad part of human nature. If a minority goes into an area that is all-white, then that person will stand out just by looks. If that person committs a crime in that area, then finding that person woudn't be hard. Anyone who looks different from the majority can be subject to standing out in the crowd. Any entire race isn't all bad, but the bad apples tend to spoil the bunch.

Bad people do not spoil the rest of an entire race of people. It is the responsibility of everyone to be wise enough that if one person is 'crap' that doesn't mean everyone who looks like that person is crap.

People who opt not for this responsibility fuel the fire. I choose not to do that.

I understand what you're saying. What I was trying to say was that many people tend to focus on the bad apples rather than take each person as they are.

Also, it doesn't help when the current younger generations view "being a bad apple" is a cool acceptable way of life.

So, you are then getting many more bad apples making it easier for people to stereotype.

There are many more of the "bad" crowd making things difficult for the ones who don't committ crimes, but I would hope the average human being would be smarter than to stereotype, but that's life.

This actually goes for white and black youth, so I disagree unless we start stereotyping against all people....or all people who look like they're under 25....it's still a ridiculous concept.

I don't value diversity. It's insane. I will probably move to Iowa, or Arkansas. Nothing is gained by this balkanization of America.

The concept of different types of people in the same space doesn't sound insane. Crime and violence are not wanted but sometimse being the only person like one's self doesn't feel great either.

I think if you would gather some information and put percentages to Black versus white youth it would not back your claims.
