Smile Sioux City Colleges

A move to Sioux City may be in my future -- and I have visited and like the people alot! For a city with several colleges, it seems like there is no area where the college kids hang out or live off campus...is there a "college area" or a artsy area to the city at all?

Msryan,
I'm glad you like Sioux City..its a great place to live and raise a family. We have several colleges in the area, and while many students live on their respective campuses you'll find other students spread around town. The typical "hang-outs" vary. Many weekends (and weeknights) you can find college students downtown on Historic 4th Street where there are several local eateries, bars, and shops. Downtown is also where there is an incredible art center and historic Orpheum Theater. During the warmer months, the Farmer's Market is held near downtown and there you can find food, crafts and baked goods. Many of our local artists display their work in local coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants and furniture stores around town. For more things to do in Sioux City, check out the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce Website. www.siouxlandchamber.com They have a lot of those listed. I hope that answered your question!
