Lightbulb Is Iowa very rural and country like?

I researched Iowa and noticed that it is very small like and is very different compared to states like GA and FLA. Is Iowa the exciting state that has lots and lots to do?

It's not ALL rural and country like, but mostly. Outside of a few larger cities, it is mostly farmland with gentle rolling hills.

The cities of Des Moines, Iowa City, Ames and a couple others have stuff to do. I wouldn't say there is lots and lots to do, but one can stay occupied most of the time (indoors in the winter).

Most Iowans will tell you that being "different" from Florida and Georgia is a good thing! From an excitement point of view, Iowa sure isn't Vegas, but this is a good thing as well.

Does Iowa have tons of night-life, gourmet restaurants, and world-class shopping? No. However, we have very low crime, clean air, nice people, and low cost of living. If you live in a larger area like Des Moines, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, Waterloo/Cedar Falls, or the Quad Cities, you'll find enough to keep you occupied, but you sometimes have to get creative! I try to travel a few times of year to get my fill of the "big city" excitment!

'Exciting' was never an adjective I would use to describe Iowa. It makes me laugh just thinking about it! 30 years there and moving away from Iowa was the most exciting thing I'd experienced as an Iowan! LOL If you are retired, Iowa is great! If you are 25 and looking for fast-paced life, you may want to head elsewhere. Even anniniowa said she has to LEAVE Iowa and TRAVEL to somewhere else to find excitement. LOL
