Question Cedar Rapids Surrounding Communities: Which are the best?

Thinking about moving to the CR area and not sure about some of the surrounding communities. Places like Hiawatha, Marion, Covington, and possibly the Cedar Hills or Fairfax areas. Don't really want to live in the city of CR proper.

Also, what are considered the best schools around those parts? Thanks.

I prefer Marion because you get a lot of the bigger box stores and grocery stores without having to drive into CR.

I lived almost all my life in Cedar rapids , The other cites you listed are sooo tiny Im not sure youd find much. Try the NE side of town, its really shaping up

Errrr...Marion and Hiawatha are hardly "tiny." I'll give you Fairfax and Covington though.

From my admittedly limited experience with Cedar Rapids, (I go there sometimes for random things but have never lived there.) I would choose Marion. Linn-Mar schools are good, the town is nice, and it's big enough to have some amenities that smaller suburbs like Hiawatha currently don't offer.
