Hi there! My husband is retiring from the Navy after 20 years of service. Hes from the Dubuque area, where his parents still live. We want to live nearby them as they age to help them out a bit when they need it. Hes currently looking for employment, specifically in civilian law enforcement. He currently is a Master at Arms and has his BA in criminal justice which is why he is steering towards that type of career. We heard there may be some possibilities of openings in the area. If anyone knows anything pertaining to that we would love to hear from you, or about any other law enforcement leads you may have.
We're also in the market for a new home! Were moving from San Diego and will be looking for something near Dubuque preferably, or at least within around a 2hrs drive from there. I have vacationed in Iowa several times and it was actually my idea to leave CA and head to Iowa as I LOVE it there even though im basically deathly "allergic" to the cold I had never tasted sweet corn, or corn fed beef/pork in my life and BOY was I in for a treat! Now I really look forward to being there, even in the winter with all the snow (I love snow as long as I can stay warm) on the ground. The only thing I didnt care for was the "fishfly" season! Anyway.... I look forward to anyones replies. If you have anything else you want to add that might be helpful for our relocation (July timeframe) that would be great too!!-tee ![]() |

I do believe that the Clinton, Iowa police force is looking to hire someone, He should be familiar with the area as it is about 30 minutes south of the Savannah-Sabula area. Also about 1 hr. and 30 min. from Dubuque!
Maybe this will help! ![]() P.S. You can call (563)242-7545 for more information! Last edited by wags4u2002; 02-16-2006 at 12:41 PM.. |

thanks so much for the info!!!!!! Were looking like mad for houses in the quad citi area.. Boy are there a LOT to choose from! And SO much nicer than here. Here in San Diego a 1500 sq ft home with a tiny tiny yard goes for 480 to 500k bucks! Crazy huh? So we should be able to find something really nice with acreage even! Plus houses here sell in days... so it shouldnt take but 2 weeks to sell ours. I told my husband about the clinton pd and hes going to check into it right away.
I really appreciate it! If anyone else has similar info about any type of law enforcement/security type jobs in the area, let me know! take care- tee ![]() |
