It's a decent sized town with a rich railroad history, close to the Des Moines River Valley, which actually provides some beautiful topography and recreational opportunities. It's close to Ames, which is the next largest city with all the amenities you would expect from a small city of 50,000-60,000 people.

I believe there is some mail-processing businesses there. I think the New Yorker has their subscriptions sent there.

Not worth much, but that's all I know.
