dumont, ia?
Anyone live or around Dumont? or a city near dumont? Thinking of buying a home near there, but want to find out info about the area and distance to Cedar Falls, ia. I did a map search, but the time in distance doesn't seem accurate.

That's funny, I was just thinking about dumont earlier this afternoon.
It's roughly an hour or so to Cedar Falls - if it's just a small town you're looking for, there are more practical solutions. Dumont is very rural and very small, I would say you will have to go to Hampton for everything. If I remember correct that is the closest big town/county seat, I'd have to look at a map tho.

An hour or so? Map said about 45min. and that's what are trip is to our current home.
Our closest bigger town now is Waverly and is 20min from us. So, hampton or waverly will still work for distance. The property we like is a larger acreage. No where near town. Its south of dumont.

OK? 45 min is about an hour - I was going by memory... ... ...
Honestly it's not going to be as convenient as you think. And you can forget that 45 minutes when the winter winds are howling on the flat plains of northern Iowa and blowing snow causes white out conditions.

and BTW google maps puts it at an hour and 4 min assuming you take the quickest route. Like I said earlier - those roads west of Cedar Falls (especially) are flat with no wind break - some of the worst in the winter.

Yes, but what I am saying is it won't be any different then our current situation. we live within 30 min of this town, and know about the wintry roads.
We just want to make sure it wasn't any further drive etc from work.

Yes I know about flat iowa roads. Almost our whole route now is flat. But appreciate the info.
This property is south of Dumont, so is somewhat closer to CF.
