Omaha Rocks. You just don't get how stupid you sound. As if there are no renecks in Omaha. I have lived there and work there so I think I know a little bit about that. Yes there are rednecks in CB, your wife's family, but there are a lot of nice folk here so please don't bash everyone. That is very intolerant which is what you don't approve of. And again if you don't like the red light cameras then stop and don't get a ticket. I was ramed by a red light runner so I don't have much sympathy. Fine if the city is making miney. I lost.

You're supporting extortion. Congratulations.

It's also stupid. More than likely, within the next year or so, the ACLU is going to sue the City of Council Bluffs over this. They've done it in other Iowa cities, have won, and the cities have had to repay millions of dollars of money they extorted.

But hey, that City of Council Bluffs is a real brain trust.

Like who care what the great Omaha Rocks thinks?????? You're just wrapped all up in you!!!!!I love this whole area(Omaha Metro) but apparently you just can't see beyond you ass!!!!!!

Ecuse me, who is calling names???????? Maybe if you wife's relatives didn't live in the slums then you wouldn'd be so defensive. Not everyone in CB lives in the ghetto. Omaha has plenty of low income areas but that doesn't mean that everyone in CB lives like that. That is my point. You just don't get it.

Maybe that prostitute chasing guy on the City Council was involved in this brilliant decision too? Speaking of red lights...

OK lets get back on the subject of the cameras, is it the city or a private company that owns and operates the camera's and then pays the city a % for the rights to place the camera's and collect the fine's on behalf of the city???? It does make a BIG difference. Private company's are not police so they can't enforce and such laws. And you can beat any of their so called tickets in a court of law.

Something like 70% of the tickets go back to the company who installed the cameras. It's nothing short of a scam. It's extortion.

The real problem is not that there are red light cameras there. The problem is that the crooks set the yellow light to be shorter than yellow lights are supposed to be.

The lights should stay yellow a minimum of 3 seconds in a 25 mph zone. But the crooks in Council Bluffs have the 35th & Broadway yellow timed at less than 3 seconds, and that is in a 35 mph zone - a zone that drops to 35 mph only 2 blocks from the intersection.

Straight up extortion. It's not about public safety. It's about making easy money. It's absurd. But, alas, it's nothing less than is to be expected from the City of Council Bluffs.
