Iowa State Fair
I would like to go to the Iowa State Fair. Can anyone tell me about it, the activities, people, best places to camp or just put up a tent? Is it a lot of fun? Do they have cooking contests? Thanks for any help.

I think you have to reserve a spot way in advance to be able to camp there.

Do it. Don't worry about dieting either while you're there, there's too much good (and extremely bad for you) food. The fair is awesome.
There are cooking contests. Lots of agricultural stuff like tractor displays, huge animal barns and so-on. That may sound boring, but it's really not. Come on, there's even tractor square dancing. Oh, and one thing I think is funny, everyone always talks about the size of the prize winning hog's testicles. They're basketball sized!

I've never been to that fair before, probably would have considered going... that is until i read that last reply about Pig Testicles?
