Yes. I believe they finally gave up and are demolishing the church there. A real bummer.

During my research for a major tornado project, I remember uncovering some tornado frequency numbers for each county in Iowa. You may look into the book "Tornado, Accounts of Tornadoes in Iowa" by Professor Emeritus John L. Stanford. It is an excellent book and you will find that there are counties in Iowa that have much higher numbers than others. Also take into consideration that rural areas will have lower statistic numbers as the population decreases. John Stanford was the professor of the Atmospheric Physics department at Iowa State University for many years and was a well published scholar. His personal email address is stanford@iastate.edu and I don't think he would mind if you asked him a few questions. Good luck in your Iowa adventure...

OHHH YEAA was it fun. I should have been inside in the basement in the tub, where I lived...at 218 N Dubuque (nest to HandiMart).

INSTEAD I sat in my back alley (behind Pizza Pit and Dairy Queen) and watched the twister roll over Iowa Ave. However, as it was passing from the area of IC where Menards and the ratty Wal-Mart exist, I stood as high as I could on the Old Capital and took some amazing shots. THEN I noticed the thing coming straight at me so I ran like my life was about to end to get out of the way of the mayhem.
Then got the bright idea to drive around in the mass hysteria. But that is another story.....

You do make a good point "metro223" however, my name is on my website for the tornadoes pictures taken during the storm. If any one person REALLY wanted to know my previous address I really do not care AT ALL. I don't live there, it's a college town, and i'm sure in 2-3 years that address will be completely expired from my credit report. (not to mention that if anyone stole my identity, they couldn't get approved for a rusty Huffy with pegs.

AMEN! Going back to how serious it CAN be giving out info. like that I have had experience. I have a ph # (888__3230380_I make weird marks within the telephone # to spoof search engine crawlers from recognizing it is such) and it is a toll-free business line; having since been posted online, was targeted, spammed, telemarketed, etc to death.

Feel free to call me, I do not worry one iota! -->"7738'5'70100'
Sincerely & thanks for the heads up, seriously.
