I am currently in Des Moines, or more specifically, WDM. I am staying at a hotel, and intend to start my search for apartment housing tomorrow. I do not yet have a job. I moved here from out-of-state because I like Iowa as a whole. (scenic, imo). Driving down Grand Street today heading East from
WDM, I noticed many nice neighborhoods, and they all had unique neighborhood names. Is there a place I can go online to view all of the neighborhoods, say, on a map? I have not found such an online site. Otherwise, can someone with a good sense of the greater DSM area give me a verbal sketch of the neighborhoods? Utimately I hope to buy a house in the area, but not for another 6 mos-12 mos. I appreciate your input. ps.. it would be preferrable if I could get hired first and then rent an apartment after I know where I'm be working. But at $50 a night for a motel room, I am not prepared to spend that kind of money. For the record, I am a commercial driver, truck or bus. I may try and get that same type of employment. Thanks! |

thanks, but I decided to leave Des Moines this morning. I thought KC might be
something I would like more. Take care |

that was quick. DSM and KC are worlds apart...much different cities. KC is big and very urban.
