Default Apartment Ideas for Council Bluffs

Our daughter is locating to Council Bluffs for a new job. Do you have any suggestions of some reasonable and safe apartments for a single girl?
Thanks,

is a helpful site I use.

You don't say her age, the city size she is moving from, whether she's a small town girl or pretty street savy, etc and I think that needs to be taken into consideration. The safer apartment complexes are, of course, more expensive. I would advise her to avoid the West Washington/Mynster Street area (our ghetto) & the area from 8th Street and 1st Avenue to about 5th Avenue. PLEASE avoid the Ambassador Apartments! I know people who live there, and while reasonably priced it is drug-infested. I have also called the CB Police Department in the past and asked about a particular area or apartment complex to find out how many calls and what type of calls they get there.

There are quite a few websites for the different complexes in CB but don't let the nice pictures, etc fool you! Remember these sites are put up by the people who want to rent out their apartments!

from this list absolutely avoid: Bluffs Apartments, Cambridge Green, Chapel Ridge Apartments, Cottonwood Apartments, Featherstone Townhomes, Hidden Bluffs Apartments, Monticello Apartments, Parkwild and Pineridge are questionable, Twin City Square, Western Trails, & Woodbury Pines. I listen to the police scanner most nights, but again, contact the police dept to verify this info.

Personally, I live @ Deerfield Apartments (almost 5 years). They have controlled access/secure entry. It's not a bad place to live and it's close to the interstate, shopping, grocery stores, etc. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm 53 and was born & raised here so I know Council Bluffs pretty well. Good Luck
