During that period of time Christianity ruled everyone's life throughout Europe it was only with the establishment of the United States that Christianity lost its grip on ruling everybody's life. Who knows there may come a time when Islam can be separated from its government. But I still think that rather than calling each other derogatory names and at least be respectful to one another, things could be a lot better and possibly Christians, Moslems and Jews could live together in peace. It's just a thought.
That Christianity outgrew its Dark Age totalitarianism is small comfort when we see NO ATTEMPT in Islam to depart from its barbarous culture. An environment of swords, bows, spears and trebuchets is not comparable to one with cruise missiles, nuclear weaponry, biological weaponry, and other WMDs.

that's true Mystic, but if each side keeps calling one another derogatory names and accusing one another of different atrocities, how far does that go to trying to understand one another or respect one another ? As long as there are the preconceived ideas that each side is as bad as the other, nothing can be accomplished in trying to understand each other and possibly working towards respecting one another and then the possibility of peace, all it takes is one individual of importance from each side to sit down and have meaningful conversation towards respect.
