Well....after I looked it up, it does indeed seem that the 'Rum' (Byzantines) were defeated by the Sassanid persians 3 - 9 years before their victory. So, is it a prophecy?

610 Heraclius replaced Phocas as emperor of Byzantium. The Qur'an began with revelations on Muhammad's divine revelations.
611 Sassanid Persians overrun Syria and capture Antioch
612
613 outside Antioch, the Persian generals Shahrbaraz and Shahin, decisively defeated a major counter-attack led in person by the Byzantine emperor Heraclius.
614 Fall of Jerusalem to persians.
619 Persians take Alexandria
621 perians take egypt entire.
(period of defeat of Rum 611- 621.
622
623
634
625
626
627 The main Sassanid force was destroyed at Nineveh by Heraclius
628 end of reign (death) of Khosro II. the Makkan tribe of Quraish and the Muslim community in Madina had signed a truce called the Treaty of Hudaybiyya
629 Heraclius restored the True Cross to Jerusalem
Period of victory of Byzantines.
630 Makkah conquered by the Muslims
631
632 Prophet Muhammad died
633
634
635
636 The Romans suffered a crushing defeat by the (muslim) Arabs at the Battle of Yarmuk

So you see that the period of defeat (611 -621) and victory (622 -629) for the 'Rum' falls within the time the quran was being put together to Muhammad's death. It is roughly accurate but it is contemporary history, not prophecy. It is very much like the Daniel prophecies in that respect.

What the Qu'ran says is that Allah took Muhammad on a quick trip the "farthest Mosque," which at that time was in Morocco. In fact, there wasn't a Mosque in Jerusalem at all at the time because it was under the control of the Christian crusaders and there were only churches in the city. Moreover, the Al Aqsa Mosque wasn't rebuilt until about 70 years after the death of Muhammad.

But, why let facts stand in the way of a Muslim claim on Jerusalem?
It certainly seems to be the same spin as I heard regarding the attack on Medina by Muhammad justified becaude they had slung him out for smashing their idols. Try smashing something in a muslim mosque and see if you get away with just being 'thrown out' and whether they consider it justified to come back with an armed mob and take the place over.

But then of course, all that is justified because it's what (their) god wanted.

history is something happens in the past .

the quran said about something will happen within 3 to 9 years and that is future

and if you think that this prophecy is not strong enough to unlock the closed hearts then ponder in the second miracle.

"The Byzantines and the Persians actually fought at the Dead Sea basin, which is situated at the intersection point of the lands belonging to Syria, Palestine, and Jordan. At 399 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is the "lowest" place on Earth's surface.181

However, as only modern measuring methods and equipment can prove this fact, it would have been impossible for anyone living at that time to realise this truth. Yet, the Qur'an states clearly that this region was the "lowest land" on Earth and thereby provides further evidence that it is the Word of Allah."

I see a lot of posts here with references to science to show how forward-thinking and progressive the quran is. There are also a lot of videos on youtube. Why the insecurity? Seems like they are using science to validate the holy book. I suppose they realize that the religion / region is seen to be backward and regressive.

If the quran was so great in looking forward, maybe, it should have given the people there a small chapter about oil and how to drill for it - would have given that region an economic head-start hunderds of years ago!

I do find it interesting that some people actually take this stuff seriously.

How did the Quran know the location of the lowest place on Earth ?

The Earth was created by Allah and Allah know every thing about it and the Holy Quran is from Allah
amazing miraculous verse in The Holy Quran
Alif, Lam, Mim.
The Romans have been defeated in the lowest land,
but after their defeat they will be victorious within three to nine years.
The affair is Allah's from beginning to end. On that day, the believers will rejoice. (Holy Quran 30.1:14)

Nobody knows when Muhammed was born, if he existed at all.

The writings about him are far to late to be considered accurate, in a pile of records proven false.

His death was not mentioned for over 100 years after the event.
