Prophet Jesus peace be upon him in islamic Traditions

As well as the Hadith which refer to Jesus (peace be upon him), there are also many Muslim traditions which give accounts of the sayings and deeds of Jesus (pbuh). These were originally gathered together by the earlier followers of Jesus, especially those who spread to Arabia and North Africa. When the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) came, many of the followers of these followers embraced Islam. They retained all the accounts they had about Jesus (pbuh) who had foretold the coming of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). These traditions were passed down from generation to generation by the Muslims, and many of them were finally gethered together in Tha'labi's Stories of the Prophets and in al-Ghazzali's Revival of the Life-Transaction Sciences. It is significant to see how these traditions give a clear and unanimous picture of the ascetic Prophet who prepared the way for the final Messenger:
Ka'b al-Akhbar said: Jesus, son of Mary, was a ruddy man, inclined to white; he did not have......Jesus (p) in Hadith and Muslim Traditions
************************************************** *****

the Apostles went to the sea to see prophet jesus because they were told he is in the sea.
when they reached the sea they saw jesus walking on the water
the wave brings him back and forward

one of them said shall i come to you o prophet of ALLAH
Jesus said yes
then he put one of his feet in the water and when he put the other one he said
i am sinking o prophet of ALLAH
Jesus said
show me your hand O you short of faith , if the son of Adam had certainty as much as one hair then he would be able to walk on water.

***************************************
some said to jesus how are able to walk on water
jesus said by faith and certainty
they said we have faith and certainty

jesus said then walk on water

they tried and could not

then he showed them gold and stone

He said: which one is the Sweetest in your hearts?
They said: this gold.
He said they are the same to me.

Jesus in the Koran is probably the best extra-biblical evidence for his existence. People who deny the historicity of Christ have Muslims to contend with.

I guess you don't get it that one religious text is the same as another.....worthless as evidence?

Yes, We Muslims have a very strong love for Jesus(as), Outside of him being the most written about Prophet(PBUH) in the Qur'an there are considerable written and oral historical records about him. Also his Blessed Mother Maryam has one of the largest Surahs in the Qur'an that carry a great deal of the life of Jesus(as). It just may be that Muslims of Arabia have much more of the historical records of Jesus(as) than any other people.

You are correct, those who doubt the existence of Jesus(as) do have the Muslims to contend with.

At least Moslems and we, the "People of the Book" have that in agreement.

A book written six centuries after a purported existence is not a primary source, and all but useless as evidence of said existence.

It's akin to holding up a book written by me, in the year 2011, about the Merry Men of Sherwood Forest, then claiming:
"People who deny the historicity of Robin Hood have Voyageur to contend with"

Well not all the "People of the Book" The Jews and Sabians seem to deny the existence of Jesus(as) or have little regard for him.

Christians and Muslims do share much about Jesus(as) we may disagree about His nature, but from a historical perspective we are in strong agreement. Two main points of agreement are his virgin birth and his being lifted up to heaven. The Qur'an does mention a few additional miracles performed through him that are not mentioned in the bible, we both agree he performed many Miracles.

But in addition to the Qur'an you will also have to contend with the extraneous reports that the Arabs saved. While this would not serve as proof in a court of law, it would be presentable as evidence in support of any proof.

If the goal posts are infinitely moveable, you can win every argument.

If the theists didn't have to move those goal posts past what is commonly accepted as solid evidence you wouldn't have to keep trying to convince us.....we'd have conceded already.
