I think the most heart-warming thing about Islam is the way they throw acid in the faces of little girls who have the temerity to attempt to attend school.

I always find this argument to be more than just a bit disingenuous when you consider that over the last 100 years "Christian" nations have either directly controlled or have held overwhelming economic and military influence over the vast majority of the non-Christian world that one can afford to appear less violent and tolerant. However, I think that there is ample evidence that when Christians perceive themselves or their ways threatened by a larger force that they can be as downright violent as the any other group of religious zealots.

Why can't we just agree that both religions are hideously immoral and violent?

Perhaps what both religions - all religions - need is more support for those who object to and actively try to limit the authority of those who take the unacceptable view of making religious commandments and values a code for living.

We are having a tough time of getting the message over in Christian areas, I imagine it is even tougher in Muslim areas.

And there's always the worrying thought that those who post advocating peace and tolerance by muslims don't have any such intention beyond trying to put others off their guard.

i don't think that violence and immoral are caused basiclly because of relegion
i think that
christians will say that violent muslims are violent because of isalm
muslims will say that violent christians are violent because of christianty
someone as you who don't believe in both will say that both relegions are immoral and violent
i can say the same about athiest , they are immoral because they have no beliefs in afterlife nor in judgment

this isn't sort of discussions which can get benefits for anyone

There is much in what you say. We are all violent and immoral because of evolution. It is not because of a lack of belief in divine punishment. It is perhaps true that religion may make violent and immoral people behave better through a threat of punishment. On the other hand, only religion makes decent people act in a violent and immoral manner. And that's what this thread is about.

Default Belief in God is not the problem

Belief in God is not the problem . . . religious desire for power and control over others IS! All other religions have officially given up trying to enforce their beliefs (and rules) on others by force of human punishment in the name of God . . . except Islam. It is the sign of a completely IMPOTENT God who needs humans to force other humans to do what He supposedly wishes!!!

And how's Greatest I Am doing out there today? Fundamentalist Evangelism often used Technocracy as a proof for the existence of God. The excitement of it and the reflection for the love of God connects with the communication in the the age of the Internet. Praise the Lord for PEace not War. I'm a *** too you know.
