We actually do not know how old Aisha was. We do know she was the only virgin Muhammad(PBUH) married. We do know it was very acceptable in pre Islamic Arabia for a man to marry even younger girls. We do not know her birth date which most likely any year between 602 and 612. We do know she was betrothed to another man when she married Muhammad(PBUH). We do know that she had reached Puberty. Nearly everything we know about her comes from her own writings. She wrote approximately 1/3 of all the Ahadith. If she actually was the commonly stated age she was exceptionally advanced for her age.

The Shi'i believe the young age that is traditionally given is a metaphor indicating her virginity.

Nearly all we know about her comes from the collection of Ahadith collected by Sahih Muslim nearly 200 years after her death. Plus passed down oral traditions, some of which contradict each other.

However, she is considered to be the first Islamic Scholar, did considerable writing, historians do note she did insist on taking part in at least one war as a warrior.

Islamic law also specifies that when a woman is murdered by a man, her family is owed only half as much "blood money" (diya) as they would be if she had been a man. (The life of a non-Muslim is generally assessed at one-third).
We are speaking of material value which the (Diya) is to compensate for. A murder of a man results in lost income for the family. Since a woman's income is not required to be used for household expenses, a family does not loose any income from the lose of a woman, even if she is earning a very large income. A woman's income is a woman's own and a man can not take it. When a man is Murdered the wife looses income for household expenses. The Diya for her husband is to support her long enough until she remarries.

As Muslim I need no body to thank me if I be honest .this is my opinion I believe every man has opinion toward this issue if you take it as a debate I don't .

AND to make you even more happier ,ask me about any think I believe in as Muslim I'll answer you whatever and whenever ?

Do you deny the fact that people disagree with each other and some time fighting each other father and son , mother with her daughter or parent one another.

Um...that actually shows domestic abuse to be comparativly quite low in those countries.

The NYT seems to have gotten the wrong end of the stick in suggesting that the same laws for rape and violence apply within marriage as without somehow means less legal protection.

Legaly, a husband has exactly as much right to the body of his wife as a random stranger has to the body of a woman he just met. And the same applies to violence. Same punishments.
