Sharia is actually very complex. Not very different from Western Jurisprudence. What is usually called sharia is vigilante law or national cultural law.

At this time there is no nation that actually has Sharia Law. I really doubt there will be true sharia until the return of Jesus(as) and the arrival of the Mahdi.

A bit of trivia part of British law was is based on Sharia. British common laws seems to have been derived from sharia
