[Khalif]

[53.39] And that the human shall have nothing but what he strives for.
وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ

This is Allah's establish way with humans. They can't expect something for doing nothing. One has to work for it if s/he wants to have something.

This is why Allah does not change the condition of people unless they try to change their condition by themselves first.

The same applies to people who are in a better condition. Allah will not change their condition unless they do something bad/evil because of which they no longer deserve to be in that better condition.

[8.53] This is because Allah has never changed a favor which He has conferred upon a people until they change their own condition; and because Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ ۙ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Lessons are simple:

Do not expect to be favoured just because you call themselves Muslims or are from a certain genealogy or tribe. You have to work for your favours from Allah by doing good deeds to other earthly living beings.

And do not expect to stay in a better condition for long if you do evil acts.

[Khalif]

[2.81] Yeal Whoever earns evil and his sins beset him on every side, these are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.
بَلَىٰ مَن كَسَبَ سَيِّئَةً وَأَحَـٰطَتْ بِهِۦ خَطِيٓـَٔتُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ

[2.82] And (as for) those who believe and do good deeds, these are the dwellers of the garden; in it they shall abide.
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ

[Khalif]

[41.43] Naught is said to you but what was said indeed to the messengers before you; surely your Lord is the Lord of forgiveness and the Lord of painful retribution.
مَّا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبْلِكَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍۢ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٍۢ

This verse of the Qur'an is proof enough that, in essence, the message of the Qur'an is the same message that came through the previous messengers. In reality it is the same message from God for the people; believe and do good to the other living beings on earth.
Our salvation depends on those two factors. Believing is in the message of God that guides us to do good to the other living beings (including the living plants and trees). If we all do that then life on earth can be sustained for a very long time.

[35.10] Whoever desires honor, then to Allah belongs the honor wholly. To Him do ascend the good words; and the good deeds, lift them up, and those who plan evil deeds, they shall have a severe chastisement; and their plan, it shall perish.
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ جَمِيعًاۚ إِلَيۡهِ يَصۡعَدُ ٱلۡكَلِمُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ وَٱلۡعَمَلُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُ يَرۡفَعُهُۥۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَمۡكُرُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٞۖ وَمَكۡرُ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُوَ يَبُورُ

[29.2] Do people think that they will be left alone on saying, We believe, and not be tried/tested?
أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ

There is no free pass to paradise for merely calling yourself a believer or even Muslim. God will test/try all such believers to separate the real ones from the fake ones.
