If a woman who is Christian marries a Muslim man, is it expected of her to convert to Islam?

Someone I used to be close to has converted I think for her husband. I thought you did not have to do this because a friend of the family married a guy from Saudi Arabia who was a Muslim and she never converted. She is a Catholic and they are raising their kids as Catholics. This was not an issue because they actually traveled to Saudi Arabia often (they probably still do) to visit his family and they all got along.

A Christian woman need not revert to Islam if she Marries a Muslim Man. But she is responsible for teaching any children about Islam.

My opinion based on my very limited knowledge. Astagfirullah

Ok, thank you. I think it probably depends on the person. Even if there are certain "rules" I think some people follow them and some do not.

What about baptizing her children and teaching them about Christianity also? What about if husband converts to Christianity?

That is a very serious issue the man will have to one day explain to Allaah(swt).

However, since he has left Islam, he has left Allaah(swt) A very loud statement that he has no desire to be in Heaven with Allaah(swt)

It is one of the few ways a Muslim can be certain he will not enter Heaven. But, the choice is his, made of his own free will and should be of no concern, unless he tries to lead others away from Islam.

Okay, how does one revert to Islam to share the same religion as their husband and raise their children as Christians? Also if the children are being raised as Christians, there is no way they would tell his family in Saudi Arabia as it's considered apostasy and punishable by death.

I was talking about two different people. One person who converted to Islam after she married a Muslim man.

Second couple the woman did not convert, and they are raising their kids as Catholics. They used to (and they still might) travel to Saudi Arabia often to visit the husband's family.

I wasn't sure what the norm is.

Koran said that:
A muslim man can marry a non muslim woman.
But a muslim woman must marry a muslim man. So the man must made a conversion.

As people become more educated and exposed to other cultures, I think the new norm is for people to leave their old structured ways behind and decide to live their lives as they darn well please.
