I've posted this before, but I will again because it made me laugh.

Two people were having a conversation in my work kitchen just before Christmas a few years ago. A Jew was saying to a Hindu, "You know, with so many of you moving to this area from India, it's getting so that on Christmas Day we have to leave earlier to get to the movies and the Chinese restaurants if we want to get a seat!"

Hey Woodrow.

What (if anything) make a movie forbidden for Muslims to watch?

No simple answer there. I believe you will get different answers from every Muslim you ask.
The answers will range from the extremes of no movies are permitted to all are permitted

To keep it manageable I am only listing what I believe would make a movie forbidden. This will differ on the purpose of the movie. Such as is it a News report, an educational movie or for entertainment.

Dealing only with movies whose purpose is entertainment, I believe the following would make a movie forbidden:

Depictions of people not dressed modestly
Movies that glamorize any forbidden act
The use of instruement music as an essential part of the movie
Any depiction of Angels, Prophets or God
a movie that ridicules any Religion

As to News stories or educational movies. there is flexibility. Basically whatever is needed to keep the movie factual is permitted. With some consideration being taken for the targeted age group.
