For all people, not only Muslims, life is a continuous Jihad. In today's world the Jihad many non-Muslims fight is to bring Islam to an end. Very often the weapons they use are fabrications and misrepresentations.

Sadly countering these people has become a very frequent Jihad for Muslims. In fighting this Jihad we must not allow our self to become angry. We must understand that many, probably most anti-Islam people are good and sincere people. They honestly believe we pose a threat to them and their way of life.

Our goal must be to overcome the lies and to do so with truth and in a peaceful, loving manner. Some things we can do are:

1. Live our life as true Muslims and extend the hand of friendship.

2. Do not just speak of peace, live a life that promotes peace

3 Keep in mind that to return hate with kindness is Zakat. It is one of the most charitable things we can do. Even a smile can be charity.

4. Do not counter with the hate thrown at you

5. Do Du'a that Allaah(swt) will guide and forgive them

If you can not do those things the best option is to avoid contact with those that hate what you love and believe..

Tell you what, those Muslim men across Europe and the Middle East attacking and raping women, executing Christians, executing homosexuals, raping women and then executing them for adultry, strapping bombs to either themselves or mentally handicapped children, and taking Christian women to be raped, forced to convert to Islam, and then sold into either slavery or marriage would probably disagree with your statements. You can't reason or extend an offer of peace to such monsters who commit such acts feeling 100% justified in their behavior because the Quran and their Imans say its gods law which is over man's law.

Very true. And the rest of the Muslims, instead of standing up and saying that what Muhammed did was evil (and let's be honest here, Muhammed was one evil fellow and the root of all the evil in Islam), they defend his evil!

Some say that the culture was different back then and everyone was raping children and selling women and slaughtering others. So, it was fine that Muhammed did it.

Some say, in the face of mountains of evidence, that the people who point out this mountain of evidence are using "fabrications and misrepresentations" when the evidence comes directly from the Quran and hadiths.

Some say that it is impossible to translate Arabic to any other language. Some say context has been dropped.

Whatever the excuse, one thing never happens: Muslims never speak out against the evil in the Quran and hadiths, which are the very same evils that ISIS and the mass rapists and pedophiles and other terrorists follow to the letter.

Muslims may give lip service against terrorism, but in fact, they all think a terrorist who let his men mass rape women (and even joined in), had sex with a 9 year old child, owned and traded slaves, sold women, hit a child, had people slaughtered for making fun of him in poetry, attacked unarmed villages and slaughtered the men and watched his men mass rape the women (the booty), etc, etc.....is their prophet and perfect example of conduct. They will NOT apply judgement to anything Muhammed did. Muhammed gets a pass on every evil in the book.

So it falls flat when they speak weakly against terrorism. Really, they can't hold a perverted terrorist full of hate as their beloved prophet and perfect example of conduct and expect to be believed when they talk about their peaceful, loving ideology.

The evidence is in the Quran and hadiths for all to see. That includes Muslims.

Is that your opinion as to how as a Muslim you would overcome your jihad of facing those who fight, fear and oppose that which you cherish?

Hatred and violence does not cure hatred and violence, it only leads to more. The Qur'an and ahadith instruct us to never be the aggressors.

Muhammad(saws) also told us not to harm those who speak evil of him.

1. Live our life as true Muslims and extend the hand of friendship.

Quran 2:65 And ye know of those of you who broke the Sabbath, how We said unto them: Be ye apes, despised and hated!

Quran 4:144 O ye who believe! Take not for friends unbelievers rather than believers: Do ye wish to offer God an open proof against yourselves?

Quran 7:166 Therefore when they revoltingly persisted in what they had been forbidden, We said to them: Be (as) apes, despised and hated.

Quran 28:42 in this world We made a curse to follow them and on the Day of Judgment they will be among the loathed (and despised).

Qur’an 8:55 Surely the vilest of animals in Allah’s sight are those who disbelieve.

Quran 3:151
Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers!

Quran 7:4
How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them.

Quran 7:152
Lo! Those who chose the calf (for worship), terror from their Lord and humiliation will come upon them in the life of the world. Thus do We requite those who invent a lie.

Quran 8:12
Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them."

Quran 8:60
Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.

Quran 17:59
And We refrain from sending the signs, only because the men of former generations treated them as false: We sent the she-camel to the Thamud to open their eyes, but they treated her wrongfully: We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil).

2. Do not just speak of peace, live a life that promotes peace

"The Prophet had suddenly attacked Bani Mustaliq without warning while they were heedless and their cattle were being watered at the places of water. Their fighting men were killed and their women and children were taken as captives" (Bukhari 46:717)

But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them (9:5)

We met the workers of Khaybar coming out in the morning with their spades and baskets. When they saw the apostle and the army they cried, “Muhammad with his force,†and turned tail and fled… The apostle seized the property piece by piece… (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 757)

Allah's Messenger called Ali [and said]: “Proceed on and do not look about until Allah grants you victory,†and Ali went a bit and then halted and did not look about and then said in a loud voice: “Allah's Messenger, on what issue should I fight with the people?†Thereupon he (the Prophet) said: â€Fight with them until they bear testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger…†(Sahih Muslim 5917)

Quran 17:60
Behold! We told thee that thy Lord doth encompass mankind round about: We granted the vision which We showed thee, but as a trial for men,- as also the Cursed Tree (mentioned) in the Qur'an: We put terror (and warning) into them, but it only increases their inordinate transgression!

Quran 33:26
And those of the People of the Book who aided them - Allah did take them down from their strongholds and cast terror into their hearts. (So that) some ye slew, and some ye made prisoners.

Quran 34:51
If thou couldst but see when they will quake with terror; but then there will be no escape (for them), and they will be seized from a position (quite) near.

Quran 59:2
He it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e. the Jews of the tribe of Bani An-Nadir) from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allah! But Allah's (Torment) reached them from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts, so that they destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers. Then take admonition, O you with eyes (to see).

3 Keep in mind that to return hate with kindness is Zakat. It is one of the most charitable things we can do. Even a smile can be charity.

I am not a Buddhist per se but I think Buddhism is most effective in identifying what a human should emphasize in its struggle.
In Buddhism, "Suffering" [dukkha] is an inevitable continuous struggle of life.
Buddhism identified the primal fears associated with the issue of mortality, illnesses and old-age as the three most critical struggles one has to deal with.
Therefrom Buddhism provide a problem-solving technique [4NT-8FP] to deal with the struggle effectively and systematically.
Once the 3 major issues are dealt with the rest of life's problems are a breeze.

The problem with Islam is while it manage to identify the critical problem of 'mortality' as a struggle of life, Islam did not provide any generic effective problem solving techniques to resolve the critical issue.
What is worst is Islam added the extraneous liability of evil laden elements in its holy texts that inspire SOME evil laden Muslims to commit terrible evil and violence. The evidence for this is glaringly evident.

Any responsible and concern citizen of humanity will spontaneously bring up to discus such critical issues with the hope of bringing preventive solutions just like the issues of global warming, slavery, racism and other global issues.

I am one of those who are very critical of Islam's contribution to the current terrible evils and violence and as a potential threat in the future.
My approach is very objective as supported by real terrible evils and violence committed by SOME evil laden Muslims where their root causes are traceable to the evil laden verses in the Quran and the martial ethos of Muhammad.
Can you show me one critical instance where I have used fabrications and misrepresentations?

Personally I have much respect for your very courteous [no anger] approach in our discussions.

I believe you are over generalizing here with 'we.'

As I had mentioned many times, not all Muslims and the whole of Islam are threats to non-Muslims.
The effective causes are the natural 20% [conservatively] of evil prone Muslims [who want to go the Paradise and avoid Hell] who will naturally feast on the more than 55% of evil laden verses in the Quran and inspired by the martial ethos of Muhammad.

All humans should deal with truth rationally, therefore Muslims should deal with truths and facts objectively in the public sphere.
The main goal of Muslims [an all humans] is to understand the mechanics of the inherent, unavoidable and inevitable struggle in life. [note the generic human existential dilemma].

I understand there are non-Muslims who have not read the Quran thoroughly and thus do not represent exactly what is written in the Quran when they talk about the Quran. Such deviations must be corrected. Note I clarified as a matter of fact, the cutting of hands due to a mistake and guilt is not in the Quran.

For those non-Muslims who understand the Quran thoroughly and sufficiently and present their views objectively with integrity, there is no question of "lies" to be overcome.

What is most critical is the inherent problem that the Quran start off with lies [illusory God] and Muslims engage in self-deceptions with what is in the Quran for their salvation.
So the primary focus is for Muslims is to deal with their own self-deception rationally first whilst making the serious attempt to understand and recognized the true problem and struggle of life [the existential dilemma] that must be addressed.
When Muslims understand the mechanics of their main struggle of life and the Quran has evil laden elements, they should avoid those evil laden elements and focus to manage and modulate the main struggle.

In your opinion how should a Muslim fight this Jihad of overcoming those who vehemently oppose Islam and speak hatred of Muslims?

jumping in here, hope you don't mind.

My opinion to this question - if it were me, I would integrate into my society as much as I could rather than separate myself and try to hold on to old world values that aren't compatible to this day and age.

there seems to be a trend - massive migration from Arabia, Africa, ME, etc - from either war torn countries, or looking for a better life in the west. if I am looking for a better life, why in the world would I want to live the same way I did in those countries where life was so bad, that I left?

That is a start.

Nearly 80% of the world's Muslims are not from the Mideast and have integrated into local society successfully. Today's immigrants are not immigrants by choice, their homelands have been destroyed and we have a large group of very angry, displaced people attempting to restore their lives in nations they do not understand and have fear of.

This is something that really annoys me ... people just say anything they want when reality shows a completely different story.

All of Europe is suffering right now because of Muslim immigration. There is no way to argue about that. It is happening. It had also happened and is happening in other countries. Muslims did not 'integrate into local society successfully.'

There was/is genocide and terrorism and rioting and much slaughter and forced conversions and mass rapes and burnings of churches and murdering Christians and those of other religions.

I've just posted this on another thread and I will post it here.

As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

United States -- Muslim 1.0%
Australia -- Muslim 1.5%
Canada -- Muslim 1.9%
China -- Muslim 1%-2%
Italy -- Muslim 1.5%
Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs:
(take a look at Germany today...OMG!! Horrible!)

Denmark -- Muslim 2%
Germany -- Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%
Spain -- Muslim 4%
Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.

They will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. ( United States ).

France -- Muslim 8%
Philippines -- Muslim 5%
Sweden -- Muslim 5%
Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad &Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions ( Paris --car-burnings). Any non-Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats ( Amsterdam - Mohammed cartoons).
(This article is dated, it has become far worse!!)

Guyana -- Muslim 10%
India -- Muslim 13.4%
Israel -- Muslim 16%
Kenya -- Muslim 10%
Russia -- Muslim 10-15%

After reaching 20% expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning:
Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40% you will find widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare:

Bosnia -- Muslim 40%
Chad -- Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60% you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels:

Albania -- Muslim 70%
Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%
Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%
Sudan -- Muslim 70%

After 80% expect State run ethnic cleansing and genocide:

Bangladesh -- Muslim 83%
Egypt -- Muslim 90%
Gaza -- Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia -- Muslim 86.1%
Iran -- Muslim 98%
Iraq -- Muslim 97%
Jordan -- Muslim 92%

Pakistan -- Muslim 97%
Palestine -- Muslim 99%
Syria -- Muslim 90%
Tajikistan -- Muslim 90%
Turkey -- Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates -- Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of Peace -- there's supposed to be peace because everybody is a Muslim:

Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%
Somalia -- Muslim 100%
Yemen -- Muslim 99.9%

Of course, that's not the case. To satisfy their blood lust, Muslims then start killing each other for a variety of reasons.
