Those that perceive it as their primary Scripture (These are what people generally think of when speaking of Muslims as they all self identify as being Muslim)

Sunni (Hanafi, Maliki, Hanbali, Shafi'i, Zahiri, Wahhabi, Salafi)

Shi'ite (Ismaili, Twelver, Sevener, Alawi, Alevi, Zaidiyyah)

Sufi (some not all)

Muslims (those that profess not to be part of any sect)

Kharijite

Alawiyya.

Ahmadiyya

Barelvi

Deobandi

Khawarji

Those that perceive it as secondary or less (These do not identify as being Muslim and usually do not call them selves Muslims, but are often considered Muslim by non-Muslims)

Yazidi

Druze

Sikh

Sufi (some Sufi do not consider them self Muslim)

Bahai;

Messianic Muslims--any of several Christian denominations that follow the Qur'an in addition to the Bible.

There are probably more, in each group. I just mentioned the ones I am most aware of. It makes it a bit difficult for non-Muslims to tell who is or is not Muslim.

With all of these various people being considered Muslim by many non-Muslims as being Muslim, it is no wonder there is so much confusionand misconceptions.

The only thing that can be certain is we are all individuals and like all individuals can be good or bad.
