Assalam Alaykoum,
I was reading this article: Islam vs Judaism - Difference and Comparison | Diffen

When suddenly I saw this part:

Quote:
Praying to Saints, Mary, and Angel
Shiites ask for Saints' intercession, but, Sunnis do not. Mary is venerated by both Sunnis and Shiites however.
Is it true that "Mary is venerated by Sunnis"?

If Iím not mistaken, a month ago I read on another website that Sunnis do not worship/pray to anyone other than Allah. So either there is one exception for Mary, or diffen.com is wrong.

Sunni here.

Like all Muslims I only speak for myself and acknowledge others may have a different opinion. I admire and Respect Mary Highly as the Virgin Mother of one of the Most loved Prophets. But I do not pray to her nor consider her to be an intercessor. She was a very pious women, but she should not be prayed to.

Interesting opinion, but does not answer the Question.

Do Sunni Venerate Mary?

Mary is THE ONLY FEMALE in Quran who is mentioned by her name. And she is placed on the highest echelon of humanity for her being chaste, pure and a believer of God.

This is the kind of respect and honor that Quran and Islam extends to Mary; however, I am not aware of any Muslim who worships Mary or considers her divine.

And it's a fundamental part of Islam to believe in the miraculos birth of prophet Eesa (Jesus) by Virgin Mary.

Mary in the Koran is different from Mary in Christianity
Mary in the Koran is the girl Amrrran
While Mary in Christianity is the girl Joachim
Mary in Islam was born under the palm tree trunk
While Mary in Christianity and her son was born in Bethlehem
Mary in Islam inflatable Jibril in Faragjajha
This ugly words
While Mary in Christianity conceived of the Holy Spirit

Koran calls attributed the boy to his father legitimate
But Christ attributed to his mother, Mary
This means that son of a *****
For this reason I believe that the Qur'an respects Mary image they want
This is a very strange concept
Mohammed distorted the facts
For this reason, veneration of Mary in Islam is a non-starter
For the reasons presented to you
You should review the verses about Mary and the comparison with the original, which the Bible
He wrote Christian heritage
Clearly and you will know the difference between the two

Non-Islamic countries where freedom of expression
But we thought we discuss here
Islam says that Jesus is the son of Mary
Why does not say who is the father
For this respect hides lined charge
Because the ratio of boy to his father and not his mother
Do not know of his father's son says his mother
For this reason, respect is respect padded

I'll be very straight forward...

Mary is venerated and honored but she is not worshipped. Islam is a strictly monotheistic religion, we are extremely careful about putting anyone in the way of Allah (swt)...even the Prophet Muhammad (saw) was only a slave to Allah (swt) and just a man...the best of men but just a man.

Zaid Ibn Haritha
If the father was unknown ratios are attributed to his mother
It is most likely illegitimate
Who does not know his father
This is the direction of the Arabs in the launch of the labels
And the Koran, Jesus son of Mary said
This trend implicit in the appeal of Mary and her son
