Bismillaah ir Rahmaan ir Rahiim In The Name of Allāh The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful. As salaamu alaykum The Peace Be Upon You.

Curious to know what Muslims think of Al-Tabari's history. In forty volumes, no less! Just how accurate is it?

http://kalamullah.com/tabari.html The History of Al-Tabari

By the way, Moderator need not void a thread because it is the works of ISIS. It was horrid but no one need watch. I watched it because I wanted to know why those two men were being roasted to death. No explanation was given. Just a warning of what would happen to others. And it certainly was not the worse of the crimes of ISIS.

What I read of Tabari is, his is a collections of what we would recognized as blog-writings by bloggers or writings from diaries & notebooks of individual[s].
It is obvious whatever is written by Tabari cannot carry any divine authority.

The point is whatever is to be recognized as 'Islamic-proper' must comply within the scope of the Quran only [the only direct words of Allah] and no where else.

O.K. I had noticed this series of books and wanted to look into what could be discovered re: Prophet Solomon. Re: The Children of Israel vol. 3:

Quote:
"He was-they assert-pale, corpulent, clean, and hairy, and wore white garments."
Prophet Solomon

Nothing like him!
