I think it might be better though if we just had a unified "celebrity conversions" thread. Along with a "celebrity apostasy" thread for those into "de-conversion" stories. Having a new thread for every MTV presenter or rapper who becomes Muslim or whatever kind of starts becoming too much. I mean unless you know the person does it really merit a discussion?
I'd have to read the article, but I don't think anyone put a gun to her head and said "be Muslim." Or even said "become Muslim or I won't love you anymore." She's a grown woman making her own choices. Even if one thinks their terrible choices I don't think "condolences" are anything except condescending.
Cat Stevens' time in the Top 40 was well over by the time he became a Muslim. I don't think he cares about hit recordings. To his credit, he publicly protested Muslim terrorism.
