The invasion of Iraq was not done in the name of religion.

The attacks on the United States, Spain, London etc were done in the name of religion - Islam

The Americans invaded Iraq because of Sadam Hussein's proven record of killing his own people and people of neighboring countries. Now there are no more rape rooms and no more fresh mass gravesites. This was a Muslim perpetrating evil, not a Christian. Having said that, the fact that Sadam was Muslim is immaterial and no more relevant than the Americans being predominantly Christian. We are fully aware that a person from any faith or culture can perpetrate evil. Sadam tortured and killed thousands of his own people and it was thought that he had the capability to kill many more with weapons of mass destruction. The Americans were worried that Iraq would eventually attack Saudi Arabia and thus have stranglehold on the world's supply of oil. Of course, as we found out later, Sadam was just bluffing to keep the Iranians from getting aggressive. Intelligence mistake made, but I for one am not sorry that we invaded. At least Iraqi's people can now have a destiny of their own choosing and the Kurd genocide is over. The United States of America has sacrificed untold billions of dollars and thousands of American lives on the Iraqi people and it's future.

The peaceful people of Iraq have nothing to fear from the Americans. The Iraqi people do, however, have to fear the radical Muslims that are still in their country. These radicals are perversely anti-American and/or anti-Sunni and/or anti-Shiite and keep fighting for their own political agenda at the expense of peace and the Iraqi people.

Thank you for your thoughtful post.

A couple of items to think about:

1) Why, when the Americans build a clinic to care for Iraqi children, was the Clinic deliberately targeted by the Islamic terrorists? All the children btw, over 50, were killed - along with a number of doctors and nurses

2) The extremists say that Americans need to leave Iraq. Fine. Then, why don't they stop blowing up Mosques, markets and schools? The sooner they stop THEIR violence, the sooner the American forces will leave.

that's why some muslims believes that this war is anti_islamic war , this war wasn't against saddam as you claimed , it was against muslims

That is an incorrect statement. The war was not against Muslims. And, that was made very clear from the very beginning.

As to your question why the Americans are still in Iraq? It is because of the Islamic terrorists who are choosing, in the name of Islam, to bomb Mosques, Schools, Markets - targeting innocent civilians.

If they were to stop there terrorists actions, the United States Military would be withdrawn in very short order.

the country isn't stable now , the actions ot terrerists against innocent are not acts we proud of , and it isn't islamic teaching , it's passion's crimes
anyway , sounds like as if americans failed to rescue iraq's people , and they cause more violence instead of peace

but why they attack americans services even if it was for iraqi children .
so i think that they didn't trust you , didn't want services from you
i can imagine they saying to you , are you come to kill our chidren then build hospitales for them ?!!!!!!
just trying to imagine thier point of view

These were Iraqi children, with birth defect, found in a location where they were ...."put" and forgotten by Saddam. The Doctors treating them were American AND IRAQI doctors! They were treating IRAQI children!

These Islamic terrorists DELIBERATELY KILLED INNOCENT CHILDREN - all in the name of their religion!

Your position is so typical of Muslims and a complete cliche. Instead of spitting out all of your ingested poison from all the propaganda you have heard in your life. You should do a little thinking for yourself. If a Muslim is doing the killing, it's alright. But if it's a predominantly Christian nation killing mostly terrorists and trying to minimize colateral damage to innocent folks, then you are angry. Where were you when Sadam was killing innocent Muslims? Turning the other cheek just like the rest of the Islamic world. At least America tried to help the innocent people of Iraq and we had to come thousands of miles to do it while all the neighboring Muslim countries did nothing.

Having said all that, I appreciate your candor elwill because you are the first Muslim I have encountered on this board that is willing to discuss the situations with the Muslim world whether good or bad.
