Reps all around. On me!

How yah been, Brian? Well, I trust? PS: we have a new president soon! All is going to be wonderful! (PS: send money. We need it desperately!)
Us Brits like a bit of misery, it keeps us grounded - but apart from that, rifleman I've been great, thanks!

New president - I KNOW - GOD ANSWERED OUT PRAYERS for once!!

Bring it on, as you say... send money? - sure thing, like we have any left over here since your banks went pear-shaped... and ours followed suit

Still, it could easily have been a lot worse when you think how close MacCaine and the lovely Palin came to f***ing up the planet... maybe there is a god after all - (but I would still take a lot of convincing).

See you around, my friend - Brian.

Hmmm, old bud. First, minor point: you might want to clean up your typos a tad bit before "submitting", just to make it easier for us to follow along. Second, While making your various points, as before, I worry about your ongoing state of rage. Seems to cloud your thinking in some cases, esp. in your past rants against America The Horrible ("Are you Proud to be an American", which, of course, you're not, so couldn't honestly answer...) in which I patiently debated you until you, well, nearly ranted yourself right off the edge of the earth.... sorta like a vibrating cell phone near the edge of the coffee table! I'm worried about a fellow Canuck, man!

Third, and finally, yep, you've really made your point, my friend. You're right, and I'm glad you see the true message behind fanatical fundy Muslims, if that moniker is correctly applied to these murderous types. This girl is either a plant, or is in denial, or likes to be debased. Most of us already knew all of it, but your careful rephrasing of it, despite the occasional typos, have added immeasurably to our understanding!

Appreciated!

How's the weather in France?
Hi yeah thanks. But you are right. Sometimes with rants I just type so fast and so much, I don't bother to look over it. Plus sometimes I'm typing on a french keyboard, and just to do a period you have to press another button..also many of the letters are in different places.. so you have to get reuse to it again.. Some of my posts are total crap, others I think are pretty good, but then again with my spelling and puncuation is often terrible as a a consequence my arguments kinda loses their ground as people struggle through half-readable paragraphs. I often reread what I worte and am like, "What the hell was I trying to say??". But as you can see with this post, I'm trying to make an effort!!

HAHA yeah sometimes I do get alittle too into the debates and get mad. My post in the Proud to be American was never meant to be an attack, I love America!! In class in Canada and then here again in France, I was always the first to stand up and defend them on almost any issue. My only problem is that me being from Canada, I am naturally more to the left; That is left when it comes to social programs and redistribution of wealth though (I believe in free healthcare as well as many other social programss however they need to be applied practically) more to the right I guess on my military position, immigration and multicultural position as well as my "screw the politically correct attitude".

But honestly rifle you would get as mad as me when you look at some of the crap I saw!! One person argued that because there are more smaller laws restriciting thier "freedom" in europe (the example he gave was one europeon country had to get government permission to paint the outside of a house a certian colour) America is better despite not having what I'd call a major right, and that is the right for all americans to have healthcare.. he couldnt agree.. even though I stated that I was sure the US had other smaller rules and regulations restricting what he called freedoms that Europe did not.. hahaha that last line about the canuck was priceless.

and yeah i agree with the last part and well everything you said. She is clearly brainwashed, to an extreme I could never imagine.. She uses her "koran" and religion as a way to justify wearing that tent, although the head covering was a arab thing and not a muslim one i believe.. what the koran makes refernce to is "dressing modestly and humbling before Allah". this was taken and changed into the complete covering of women, and men having no covering at all. Why dont men have to wear that again?? The problem however is a deeper one in Islam, that can be seen in Sharia law and other rules. for example it seems the majority of people killed for adultry are women. legally women have very little say. it takes 3 female witnesses (in saudi arabia at least I know for sure) to equal one man in court. The tent is just one of the many things used to opress and control women. And just like this article makes clear, the women believe it because it shows "respect for Allah". This is just an old age justification that was similarily used by Christians in the past to justify slaughtering and killing. the only difference is we said "the will of God" and that was hundreds of years ago....

And the weather here?? umm well I'm from Ottawa and my family said its below 0 there and they have snow.. here its prolly 5 or 6, and rarely goes under 0 with no snow. (except in the surrounding mountains) I am leaving to move back to Canada though

Possibly a youthful, exuberant college student, I'd wager a grad student, hell-bent on global socialist resurrection. You know, Marxist-Leninist sort of stuff, but without the obligatory brutality, I'd assume. After all, true socialists just want equal societal brutality for all. Lenin was far more selfish! In today's modernist society, for example, see: Obama: income re-distribution. leangk was raised in Ontario of British and Canadian genotypes.

Reps all around. On me!

Heres the summary. I'm 18 and was born in Canada to a British father and Canadian mother. i decided to move to France after an exchange in grade 11 when i fell for this girl. and so i visited abunch, and finally moved here this summer as soon as high school was over. To get around Grenoble, I have mainly used the tram system, which rocks and is cheap!

haha i like to think im youthful and exuberant, and if anyone wants to find me I'm on facebook! my real name is Kristopher Leang. it kinda makes it more personal and better when you actually know what the person looks like who you are argueing with here!!. Just pm if you add me on Facebook cause soemtimes random people add me and I dont add them. so pm me before!

I was in University (although I stopped) because I am returning to Canada and the thing with the girlfriend didn't work out.

Anyways you couldnt be closer to the truth about the socialism/ comunist part! especially about the fact that I am not all about the "violent revolution" ( I actually despise it)

beign from Canada I always supported the conservative aprty, who is a center of left party (we have no right wing party in Canada) and was the farthest right I could pick.

I believe that every citizen of a country should have the right to healthcare, education ect, however thats where it ends. Canada is more blananced then the US when it comes to the pay of CEO's so I have less of a problem here.

In Canada I have no sympathy for the homeless, because there are tonnes of jobs and Canada is acutally short on workers!! 99% are druggies who choose that lifestyle. to solve the problem I do believe that a system should be set up to detox them and help them get a job (because elts be honest its hard to get a job when you live on the street and smell bad).

however if these people in that system fail to stop drugs or refuse to find a job, let them go. they are a drian on the systema dn you cant help someone who can't help themselves. don't give them food or shelter or anything. Btw in Toronot alone the amount given by chariites and the government per homeless equals 40 000$, and yet the homeless numbers arent going down.... my program would sift out the real losers, form thsoe who made a big mistake they couldnt get out of alone. by detoxing them and getting them a job, they become responsible tax paying citizens, once again contributing to society and pulling thier weight.

By reading my posts like rifleman did (we've had alot of good debates, often not on the same side!!) youll see that I jsut want to give a fairer chance to all, but I'm not about making everyone "exactly equal". for example that CEo who works really hard making millions, meanwhile that janitor supporting his family barely has enough to make ends meat! why not redistibute that wealth abit?

On the other hand I'm about the firm execution of justice and am disgusted with Canada's soft justice and the arguemt of "rights", which have often kept sicko's out of jail or for a lower amount of time.. bring back the death penalty I say!!! people seem to ahve this attitude that counciling with solve all the criminal problems, and that there are no such thing as "bad people".

luckily this has found some ground with the "tim law". a man who was recently brutally murdered on a bus. Many canadians are calling for the death penalty to be reinstated.

Anyways if I can clarify anything for you rifleman or for anyone else about anything Id be happy too!! it seems this thread got off topic but who cares! I do actually prefer this to hardcore agrueing where no one will ever agree

this can be like our own secret thread cause everyone else thinks "aww its jsut about that stupid muslim headcovering, I'm not going to read it", and in fact its about... I dont know... my history and the difference between British and American English??

Oh yeah! Basically I just Hang out at home all day, downlaoding movies and posting on this forum... I live by Canadian time now so I often go to bed at 7 in the morning... its kinda fun I guess... i jsut can't wait to get home. the breakup went soo badly...

Thumbs up Remember the A.V. Roe company....

Kristopher, FYE (for your education): when you do get back home, look up the whole story of the Canadian aerospace corporation, A. V. Roe, and their truly spectacular AVRO ARROW. It burned forever my trust and respect for Canadian government. The Damn interfering Yankees (Oooopss, I AM one now. sorry guys!) made darned sure that it would fail. They just couldn't stand that we could have come up with a (wait for it, my US engineering friends....):

(and all of this in 1953, no less...)

A fly-by-wire computer-integrated command system...

Two seat capacity...All-weather bomber-intercepting plane with...

Twin 20k lb thrust Avro Orenda engines that many countries wanted to buy..

And long-long flight-capable, particularly engineered for use over the vast Canadian Arctic...

With radar-guided missle armament....

Internalized weapons storage until needed (ala the newest F-22 and F-23s)...

Flying at (max) Mach 2.6, for heavens sake... remember this was in 1953 through '57!

A staggeringly beautiful, delta-winged, coke-bottle shaped, long-range interceptor...

A plane capable of taking down either the U-2 or the later SR-71 with ease.

The US Government and aerospace industry then "sold" Canada on the useless Bomark Missile System that tended to erupt shortly after take-off (i.e.: about 32 feet in the air. Not so useful!!)

The Right Dis-honorable John Diefenbaker, that tractor-polishing moron, should have his Winnipeg grave strafed every year by a flight of the CanAirMee CF-18s. And we, the passive, apathetic Canuck citizenry, let it happen. Gawd!

(Then note that most of the senior engineering crew left post haste to populate most of the key tech staff positions on the Apollo and Lunar Lander Programs!).

That little permanently engraved humiliating debacle, plus the relentlessly obedient and government-loving nature of Canadians, who insist on identifying themselves, spinelessly, pretty much as "Well, at least we're NOT Americans!", had me, quick-like, finding a nice American girl at Simon Fraser U., marrying her and fleeing ASAP to the US. Where I then became a living, voting proud gun-totin' Yank. And where, to quote the song, "At least I Know I'm Free". Or more correctly, at least a bit free-er.

Only thing I really miss are the fabulous sushi bars and Asian restaurants in Vancouver. Outstanding! Oh yeah, and the sparsely populated wild country. Where I used to do research on polar bears. Really!

But those politicians? Yikes. Bush is bad? Try S. Harper, esq. Or Brian Mul-ruin-ee. Help me Jesus.

Don't lose any more sleep over the French girl. She may have been too much like a Deux Cheveux C4: sorta cute, bouncy, a bit odd though interesting to ride, but in the end, too quirky and high-maintenance! (Just guessing; no insults intended in case you still are and always will be intensely in love with her. Then, let's think of her as at least a DS-21!)

Go find a nice Quebec lady, or move to YVR, go to UBC or SFU and learn to be a sushi-eating Westerner. The western Canadian girls are fine! One or two I still know are real fine! Eh DJT?

And perhaps some day you too will flee south. I've lived in both places; nothing's perfect anywhere, but it's better here. Honest!

What does this have to do with the thread? Well, let me creatively see here. I know... the Muslims should be so lucky to have access to this level of engineering excellence. No wonder they hate us! Will that sell on this thread?

Finally, do calm down KL. Folks will take you more seriously.

Not really. I wouldn't wear one but if that's what she's happy doing, let her do it.

I do find it quite amusing that there are several in this thread who are of other religious persuasions who loudly proclaim that they're being oppressed by others any time we make a mention of rituals, beliefs, or habits of their religion that we find strange. Yet...here they are, saying how awful this woman is for doing something she believes in.

Good on ya, way to be consistent!

Well, there is a reason for the old saying about converts out_(fill in whatever religion)___ those born in whatever religion.
It does smack of propaganda, though.

Just sayin'

She married him AFTER.

Personally, I can see the attraction of the Muslim lifestyle. I have found that since turning from a hottie as a young woman into a middle-aged, overweight person the attraction of not being viewed CONSTANTLY as a sex symbol very liberating. I know now that when a man talks to me it is because he wants to hear what I say, not stare at my boobs.

I would gladly adopt the garb of the Muslim but alas, being a godless heathen, I have trouble with any organized religion. I do have an abeya though, that I wear around the house. It's very comfortable.

haha sorrr i coudlnt quote the whole thing, too long.. but seriously that is the most qwierd coincidence ever!! I would always call the french girl i was with the "cheval sauvage" (wild horse) because before me, and well while with me and after me.. she was a wild horse all along..

anyways!! awsoem post, it was really good. funny, enlightening and yeah. umm I'm not too hot on french girls.. well not quebec.. the accents are... not to my liking. france accents yea, quebec.. not so much.

but dont worry, I have found a new potential, a girl I used to hang with. ummm one of the hottest, but one of the most loyal, trusting and nice people in the world. imagine the most happy and caring perosn you know, times a million..

anyways we hung out and went to some parties before I left to france, and hung out the whole time, but nothing happened. she hinted at something... so undescretely it was amazing... but the thing thats funny is this person isnt like that.. last Ive heard her past one year boyfriend and her only made out.. and she was 18 when she went out with him..

anways you people dont care but the point is Im leaving this hell-hole. i came for a girl and spent 9000$, and her 0, even though she said shed pay half. then i got ready to leave after the lieing and cheating, then she pulled the A-bomb.. the good old fashion "i love you im sorry, i was so stupid didnt realize i loved you till your leaving"... so me beign handicapped postpones my ticket...

after that 5 days and i ahdnt recieved a call or answer to my calls.. admits she was sitll seeing the guy then bamn. i rebooke dmy ticket and now havent looked back.

never firget you gotta have a motivation in life! mine was my ex thats why i worked my butt of and got that awesome average and made money.. now all that moneys gone and i quit university to return home.. but i got a new motivation so its all good

I think it is very inconsistent of her to claim that she is fighting for women's freedom, yet has chosen to adhere to a very narrow religion that is hostile to any opposing view. Her religion, Islam (which theocratically controls many nations' governments), violates women's freedom by forcing them to dress according to their rule and wants them to be abused physically if they do not adhere to the rule. In many cases, extreme violence and murder (militant jihad) is upheld as the way to stamp out everyone who does not agree with their doctrine of Islam. If Americans think this is not real or that it will never happen here, we need to get our heads out of the sand and see what is happening in our own backyard. For more information, including video captured of women being beaten and arrested for not strictly adhering to the dress code, just watch the eye-opening new movie, 'The Third Jihad.' A freedom loving Muslim shares what is really going on, and the surprising amount of video footage showing radical Islamic ideology growing in America is shocking.

I posted something similar in another thread, with additional information about a woman who is speaking out against this intolerance.
