I wonder what would've happened to people like Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix if they lived past their 20's and 30's.
I'm a musician and I'm old enough that I saw both of them live in concert. Hendrix was a virtuoso who was light years ahead of anyone in those days. I'm technically a very good guitar player but when I was a kid and heard Hendrix I couldn't even believe it. Part of Michael Jackson's talent has been the combination of some very skillful dance movements and his vocals. Prince is someone who comes to mind as being very talented in that kind of skill and showmanship. Prince has also become very religious although it's in the Christian faith as opposed to Islam. I tend to agree with Bud in AK that Jackson's problems are not likely to be helped by this conversion. It just sounds like another phase in his life that probably doesn't have much conviction although of course I can't speak for someone I don't even know.
a piece of the action for american islam. cassius clay did the same. the difference being that cassius clay cared about the people of the urban community.

I didn't get to see Jimmy with my cousin when I was 12 because someone told my mom that he shot heroine into his eyeball once on stage
Like you implied - Jimmy definitely had a feel that went beyond technique. I've seen literally hundreds of guitar players who are technically superior (as far as speed and accuracy) but few come even close to his unique expression and feel for the instrument. Wow. I didn't appreciate him as much till I heard the live 'Band of Gypsies' recording. The studio was a bit stifling for him on the first albums. Live he was - untouchable.
Jim M. was also my hero at 12. Obviously he had issues but was an amazing artist. RIP.
You know, I have always felt a little sorry for this child-man..I have an old cd of his greatest hits ( in the 80's, 90's), that I occasionally listen to while driving..
I feel sorry for him too. I will always remember him as little Michael of the Jackson 5. God bless.

didn't jackson claim that islam people were taking over his house and controlling his assets against his will a few years back?
Honestly, who gives a fat rats hairy behind what this guy does.If he wasn't Michael Jackson he'd be institutionalized by now.
Evidently many do. He might be institutionalized by now and we should still care just as we should care for all people. God bless.
