As far as the atheists, agnostics, Christians and Jews are concerned I think we have a pretty good representation of male and female members but I wonder if we have any Muslim women who could express their opinions on their faith. I know there's a few Muslims on the forum who post quite frequently but from what I've gathered from their posts I'm led to believe that all of them are men. I've been critical of nations such as Saudi Arabia and others who restrict the rights of women and I also believe that their religion is the basis for all of it. So are there any Muslim women who read this forum who could express their view of the Muslim world from a female point of view? Thanks.

I have seen a number of posts by Muslim women on CD. You just don't know they are Muslim. There are so many negative threads about Islam that some of them don't bother to get involved in the conversation.

To be perfectly honest, the reason I even started this thread in the first place is because I feel that Islam is such a male dominated religion that a woman who is a muslim might feel that it's not her place to express opinions and that maybe this should be left for the men. I don't like what any religion has done to the role of women, including Christianity. In fact, I don't feel that a person should be assigned a role in the first place and be expected to fulfill certain duties and responsibilities based on whether they were born male or female.

one can only hope that more people the world over realize how far-reaching this statement of yours is.
