apparently does not exist in todays Muslim community. The suicide bombing of the hotels in Jakarta are simply another example of the faith of bankrupted morals. [sarcasm-on] I am sure millions of people around the world are saying today"now THAT sounds like a faith of love and compassion that I could embrace." [/sarcasm-on] Had Mohammad known what people would be doing to each other in his name he would have felt the shame of cowardice and known the bitter sense of failure to his people. If the Muslims of the world do not arise, with one voice, and denounce this type of activity, they have no place at the table of civilized people anywhere.

And had Jesus "known what people would be doing to each other in his name he would have felt" ... well, i don't know what he would have felt but i don't imagine that he'd be pleased.
I could say that if a certain ilk of "Christians" don't denounce their types of activities and attitudes they have no place at the table either.
But it's not my table so i don't have much say in the matter.

Brilliant, Brilliant post.

Instead of targeting one religion, the OP should have pointed fingers all around. The real point has little to do with islam and little to do with muslims and more to do with the overall point of organized religion and the issues that circumvent them in today's world.

There is A LOT of blame to go around.

Excuse me? Because we have a differing view of the world, you ask in such a manner if I can read?

Disaray and power/control issues have always been inherent within organized religion. The whole point of organized religion is control and power - it isn't simply a modern, post-millenium issue and it will always exist. There is plenty of blood to go around on the hands of religion.

"have always been...."

do you and many others here still wait on some authority (you would then have to call organized religion or whatever) to give you all the emotional excitement and half-wit understanding to justify your actions here?

sorry if i triggered your righteousness button!

Christian & Muslim, the major players in world struggle for religious dominance and power. The atrocities enacted by the faithful from both religions are appalling. evil acts hiding behind religious morality
