I want to learn if the quran itself is clear or not.as a verse, it says it's clear.here is the verse:

[SIZE=3]Now, behold, this Qur'an is the Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. The trustworthy Ruh (angel Gabriel) has brought it down. Upon your heart (O Prophet), so that you may be of the Warners. In the perspicuous Arabic language.(AAarabiyyin mubeenin)" [26:192-195][/SIZE]

but if quran clear, why are there so many sects that are contradictory to each other.

On the other hand, I cant understand this quran alleged by muslims that it is a word of God.for example, this verse:

Thus have We sent by inspiration to thee an Arabic Qurán: that thou mayest warn the Mother of Cities(MECCA) and all around her,- and warn (them) of the Day of Assembly, of which there is no doubt: (when) some will be in the Garden, and some in the Blazing Fire.(42:7)

From this verse, as far as I understand, this quran was sent to the Arabic people cause it says mecca and its around...it doesnt have any word related to the all the world or all the universe...

there is no contradictions in the quran because one reason it is from Allah the only god.

This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil).

the prophet Muhammed peace be upon him was not sent only for the arab and not only for all the people of the world but also he was sent to the jin.

And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad) a group (three to ten persons) of the jinn, (quietly) listening to the Qur’aan. When they stood in the presence thereof, they said: “Listen in silence!” And when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners”

*************
“Say (O Muhammad): ‘It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinn listened (to this Qur’aan). They said: “Verily, we have heard a wonderful Recitation (this Qur’aan)!
It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allaah)”

this verse
We sent by inspiration to thee an Arabic Qurán: that thou mayest warn the Mother of Cities(MECCA) and all around her

it mean all the world and all mankind because Allah named it as the Mother of towns and it is located in the the centre of the land mass of the world

and there are many verses in the quran support this

Say (O Muhammad): ‘O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allaah’
*****
“This (Qur’aan) is a Message for mankind (and a clear proof against them), in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is the only One Ilaah (God — Allaah) — (none has the right to be worshipped but Allaah) — and that men of understanding may take heed

****
“And We have not sent you (O Muhammad) except as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most of men know not

********
And We have sent you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).

you don't really see the quran a lot, obviously b/c it's not our book, but I think it would be neat to get a copy and compare.

You don't want to learn, but you want to frustrate God in His revelations; so you sought after the ambiguous ayat in order to find some rift in them to say: the Quran is not from God.

Therefore, I ask God's help against the disbeliever; and by God's will you will be frustrated, and will have God's punishment in this World (: the punishment of disgrace) and in the afterlife (in Hell) unless you repent, which I don't think you will do.
  • This is in the Quran 22: 51

The explanation:
(And those who strive to [void] Our revelations [trying] to frustrate [Our messengers] – they shall be the inhabitants of Hell.)
  • And in the aya 34: 5
The explanation:
(But those who work to [void] Our revelations so as to frustrate [Us]; there will be for them a chastisement of painful wrath [in this World.])
  • And in the aya 34: 38

The explanation:
(And those who work to [void] Our revelations so as to frustrate [Our messengers]; such will be given over into the doom.)

well, I don't know about anyone else, but I sure am inspired and awed with love after reading that!....yea psych. There's nothing wrong with critiquing any religious book, Quran or Bible. Don't you think it would frustrate God more if people didn't examine religious texts and still used them?

Default Read deep

The bible has more contradictions than you'd think. Bible and Quran were all written by men(women) and claimed they were inspired by God/Allah. You could tell some of them were really confused hence the contradictions!!

The bible (Hebrew) was written by many men and over a long period of time and then codified. The quran was written over a period of time after being carried around orally and some of it was written down. It was put into a single book AFTER Muhammad died. Those who had been with the prophet and had knowledge and had heard the oral recitations were instrumental in putting the Quran together but once again it happened after his death.

The Christian Old Testament was taken from the Hebrew Bible/Tanakh and recodified for the early Christian church. The Quran took stories from the bible and changed them to fit the Islam.

What folks need to understand that both books were speaking to a specific people, in a specific time and speaking to specific issues of the time. You CANNOT just recite ayats, and verses unless you know the HISTORY of what they were speaking of.

Both books were inspired by God but written down by man and thus not infallible because the men who wrote them down were fallible.

that's how I have always felt as well, but you sometimes have to fight fire with fire, you know? Some people do see religious texts this way, your not going to change the way some people see the Bible in the manner of whether or not it is endless perfect truth, so learn how to play their game.

FIRST:

Let us see what is the alleged contradiction here:

These are the ayat 26: 192-195

The explanation:
(And the [Quran] is the revealing of the Lord of the worlds.
The 'Trustworthy Ghost' [Gabriel] came down with it,
Upon your heart [O Mohammed], that you should become [one] of those who warn.
In a fluent Arabic language.)

In fact their objection is: if the Quran is the clear explanation in a fluent Arabic language; then why have divisions and dissensions occurred?

Answer:
The Islamic nation fell into divisions, only after the manner of the past nations of Jews and Christians.

Each sect of these fell in large number of divisions, and the Islamic nations fell in the same way of dissensions: because of their deviating from the Quran and contradicting the First Commandment: that God is One without associate or son or wife or daughter;

they followed the enthusiasm about their sheikhs and imams, just like the past nations of Jews and Christians who worshipped the prophets and Jesus and the patron saints.

This is in the Quran 98: 4-5

The explanation:
(Those [Jews and Christians] given the Scripture have not departed [from the monotheism, and fell into divisions]
but only after it had been clearly explained [to them, in the Torah and the Gospel, that they should not associate anything with God.]

They [: Jews and Christians] were commanded only to serve God [alone],
and to devote their service exclusively to Him;
[to Him] is their submission;
being monotheists [according to the religion of Abraham]

and to keep up the [prescribed] prayer and pay the Zakat [alms];

such is the religion of the [apostles who were] guardians [on their peoples.])

This is according to the interpreter the late Mohammed-Ali Hassan Al-Hilly.

4:110 - Yet whoso doeth evil or wrongeth his own soul, then seeketh pardon of Allah, will find Allah Forgiving, Merciful.

4:137 - Those who believe, then disbelieve and then (again) believe, then disbelieve, and then increase in disbelief, Allah will never pardon them.
