I sense some kind of rudeness here by the OP. If it isn't rude, OP, what is the point?

I think it's more of a "Hah-hah Obama's grandmother is a Muslim!" Like that really matters?

she is performing what her creator asked her as any other muslim

The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings:

In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah,- those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures. 3:96.97

That's impressive, man. She should probably impress upon her grandson, try bringing him back to his faith , if she can't wait seven more years.

It never was his faith.

All the link tells me is that the Grandmother is making a mecca. That proves she's involved in her religion & that's nice. I guess. For her own satisfaction.

My religious practice is going to the sink & brushing my teeth daily. The god of dental hygiene expects this of me & the price of negligence is dear & mighty.

Islam emphasize on cleaning the teeth more than one time daily

the prophet Muhammad peace and blessing of Allah be upon him said

"If I had not found it hard for my followers or the people, I would have ordered them to clean their teeth with siwak for every prayer"

we pray at least 5 times daily.

The name Mecca (Makkah) is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an in 48:24. Another name for Mecca is Bakka, depending on the dialect of the tribe: this is also mentioned once, in Sura 3:96
"Verily, the first house (of worship) appointed for mankind was that in Bakka (Mecca), full of blessing, and guidance for all people."

Amazingly enough, this word Bakka is mentioned by the prophet David (PBUH) in the Bible:

"Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well, the rain also filleth the pools." (Psalm 84:6)

The well here is the well known well of Zam-Zam, still present now, close to the Ka'bah; after thousands of years.
