and btw ctriticism is not any better than degrading. either way critisizing is just a nicer way of saying that you judge, in this case, muslims for what they believe. if im wrong i stand corrected but it sounds like your saying that its ok to critisize muslims instead of degrade them.
I haven't meet any in real life, but knowing me I would probably go off in a rant like I usual do..

No. You do not have the right to NOT be criticized. You do not have the right to restrict freedom of speech because your feelings might be hurt.

I'm good friends with a Muslim family.

They don't want the Mosque built because they believe the leaders are not "moderate Muslims" but spiteful people who wants to twist the knife a little more...Why?...

Of all places in NYC they choose the one place that has given Islam a bad reputation from the start.Because of what happened at Ground Zero my friends have been harassed and insulted and the last thing they want to see is more fuel thrown on that fire.

Said Mosque is that fuel.

We all have the same opinion.

You can agree or disagree......It doesn't amount to nothing.

Well, Gplex, Islam is fairly young by western monotheistic standards. Christianity and especially Judaism have been around for a while. With the exceptions of the more recent Christian sects--Scientology is really the only other major player that is more recent.

That doesn't really change anything...

No--I was being humorous. By my standards, all religions are childish.

OK, then. No, a mosque should not be built at ground zero. Fortunately, none will be.

There. That better?

I object to any religious building being built because of the tax-exempt status that it will claim. Whether or not it is a mosque is completely irrelevant to me.

You didn't address anything I said. You just sat back and called me hateful.

"Moderate" muslims had their chance to separate themselves from extremist.
A CARTOON cause bloody riots. A CARTOON!!!! Yet their fellow muslim killing themselves with a bunch of innocent people, barely stirred up anything. From a community not known for their silence. Their silent endorsement is something I will not ignore!

This act was committed in the name of islam, and you want to spit in the faces of the love ones who visit, by building a mosque. Why don't you go and say we should put a hitler memorial in auschwitz.

"The only logical option to the owners of the WTC is to rebuild it.."

Your eagerness to slap a label on a billion different human beings who live in a hundred different countries around the world is disturbing. Your suggestion that I am spitting on the families of the victims by not being worried about someone building a mosque there is unbelievable.

It is NOTHING like building a hitler monument in Auschwitz. It would be more like building a European monument at Auschwitz. Some were directly responsible, some were neutral, some actively fought against hitler and most of them were victims caught in the middle of forces beyond their control. The events of today with regard to the muslims are no different.
